Akita Inu Dog
A muscular dog of an ancient Japanese lineage, the Akita Inu dog is known for her loyalty and courage. They originate from the Mountainous regions of Northern Japan. They have two separate varieties; A Japanese strain called Akita Inu and the American strain called American Akita. The Akita Inu dog is burly, standing 24-28inches at the shoulder, and they come with dense coats in several colors including white.
The Akita Inu Dog’s head is broad and very large but balanced in the rear by a full curled-over tail. They also have erect ears and shining eyes. Their tails are carried over the top of their backs in a gentle double coil down the loins. They can be considered clean dogs as they clean their faces after eating and also preen their kernel mate.
The Akita Inu Dog is a dominant breed and is generally seen as territorial about its property. Being quiet and fastidious dogs, they are wary of strangers and sometimes do not tolerate other animals especially same sex animals. They are affectionate, independent, protective, and thrive on human companionship.
Sometimes the Akita Inu dog needs a confident and consistent handler, so they don’t become very aggressive to other dogs and animals.
